Sandwich Library Director Job Opening!
The Samuel H. Wentworth Library of Sandwich, New Hampshire, is inviting qualified individuals to submit applications for the position of Library Director.
The ideal candidate will be a community-minded person who understands the impact that a vibrant library can have on a small, rural community. We seek someone with excellent communication skills, a strong knowledge of library operations and information sciences, and the vision to guide our library into this next chapter.
Candidates with a Bachelors degree or higher, an ALA-accredited degree in library and information sciences or certification as a public librarian, and four years of administrative and supervisory experience are preferred.
About the Samuel H. Wentworth Library: The Samuel H. Wentworth Library is a Public library system that serves all of Sandwich. The Trustees of the Samuel H. Wentworth Library, in close collaboration with the Director, are responsible for developing and managing a budget for the Library separate from the Town budget; managing the operation and upkeep of the building, land, and other property of the Library; hiring Library employees and determining their compensation; and accepting and expending donations. The Library receives funding from donations in addition to funds received via an annual town warrant article.
About Sandwich: The Town of Sandwich, New Hampshire, with a population of approximately 1200, is located on the shores of Squam Lake and nestled between two major tourist regions of the Granite State - The Lakes Region and the White Mountains. It is a classic New England setting with colorful forests, winding roads and rolling hills.This is a 30-35 hour/week position, with an option of job sharing/co-directing.
