2023 Tax Rate Set & Tax Bills Available
The Board of Selectmen and NH Department of Revenue have finalized the 2023 tax rate of $15.42 per thousand dollars of assessed property value. The 2022 tax rate was $14.41 and the 2021 tax rate was $14.47. The 2023 total tax rate increase is 7%. The Board anticipated a 3% increase in the municipal tax rate to fund the 2023 budget; the 2023 municipal tax rate of $5.25 reflects a 2.7% increase.
There are four components of the tax rate: Municipal, Local School (Interlakes School District), State Education, and County. The Selectmen’s decisions only impact the municipal portion of the tax rate.

As a reminder, your second tax bill (November) pays for town services rendered July 2023 – December 2023.
Tax bills will be going into the mail Thursday, November 16th and are due Tuesday, December 19th. Tax bills are also available today on our online tax kiosk at www.sandwichnh.org (scroll down on the home page). We do not accept online payments (cash or check only).
As a reminder, the tax office is closed next Thursday, November 23rd for Thanksgiving.
